BLUE + GOLD BOHEMIA

The lovely Lucy Davenport creates stunning, light wedding photography captured on film, and she recently approached me to design a logo for her new brand. Her vision was to capture a soft, luminous, natural look, and I used watercolours and brush lettering on the final piece.  I also made Lucy an outline version so she can use the lettering on stamps and her fancy new packaging, woo! 

We then spoke about an exciting project Lucy has had in the pipeline for a year or so... It's so much work pulling together a styled shoot, and as always, finding the time can be tricky, and although I was already super busy with wedding season her vision sold it to me - Blue & Gold Bohemia, I didn't take much convincing. The shoot took place at the blue haven of Paradise by Way of Kensal Green, the perfect setting for the super styling.  I created a few items, from calligraphy stationery on soft blues in gold ink, calligraphy on organic dyed silk ribbon from Lancaster & Cornish, and interestingly, a calligraphy piece which was then transferred onto a seriously handsome cake (the first time anyone has eaten my words perhaps). The prose was intimate and romantic, taken from The Chaos of Stars; and talented cake maker Krishanthi bought the vision to life.
