About

Chiara Perano (b. 1985) is an English–Italian visual artist based in East Sussex. A graduate of the University of the Arts London, she works across painting, illustration, and design, exploring the connection between nature, ritual, and contemporary life.

A trained illustrator, Chiara has created artwork for beautiful brands including Net-a-Porter, Mulberry, Liberty, Faithfull the Brand, The Berkeley Hotel, Anthropologie, and leading interior designers. Her work has appeared in Elle Decoration, House & Garden’s Movers & Shakers, Violet Magazine and Vogue.

Across painting, print, and illustration, Chiara explores how humans relate to the natural world, through, ritual, and emotion into both fine artworks and collectible design prints. Working in a semi-abstract, symbolic language, her intuitive paintings evoke visions of nature, ritual, and powerful feminine energy. Through gestural, visible brushwork and luminous, layered earth toned colours, she bridges contemporary aesthetics with timeless natural rhythms.

Growing up between England and southern Italy, between mountains and ocean, Chiara draws on her Mediterranean heritage and deep respect for the earth to enrich her work. Her practice continues to explore our shared connection within the imperfect beauty of the planet and skies by making her own pigments from the earth.

In 2020, Chiara created an exclusive collection for Liberty London, which sold out on release, and her Peace painting for Ukraine raised £20,000 for DEC and Choose Love charities. Eight of her large-scale paintings hang in the Hotel de la Boetie, Paris, commissioned by Partnership Editions.

Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Tillingham Vineyard (2025) and Amie, London (2024–25), with ongoing representation at Mylo Gallery, Stockbridge. Previous shows include FELT Collection 05, Soho House, Redchurch Street Studios, De La Warr Pavilion, and Big Yin, St Leonards on Sea.

Chiara is available for editorial and commercial illustration work, lettering and murals. Her work has been used in print, branding, collaborations, in-store artwork, Fashion Week invitations and dinner tables across the globe.
