About
Chiara Perano (b. 1985) is an English-Italian artist based in East Sussex. A graduate of the University of the Arts London, she works across painting, murals and design. Her painting practice explores our emotional and symbolic connection with the natural world, where plants and celestial movements offer protection, guidance, and quiet healing.
Growing up between the coastlines of England and southern Italy shaped her intuitive, atmospheric sensibility and her fascination with seasons, and landscapes and the night sky. Her work centres on dreamlike compositions where feminine silhouettes, botanical forms, and cosmic symbols meet with a refined minimal visual language. Using gestural mark-making and luminous layered colourfields, she invites viewers to slow down, listen to nature’s messages, and sense a deeper connection to the cosmos. Her practice continues to explore our shared connection within the imperfect beauty of the planet and skies by making her own pigments from the earth.
With a background in illustration, Chiara has created artwork for beautiful brands including Net-a-Porter, Mulberry, Liberty, Faithfull the Brand, The Berkeley Hotel, Anthropologie, and leading interior designers. Her work has appeared in Elle Decoration, House & Garden’s Movers & Shakers, Violet Magazine and Vogue.
Chiara created an exclusive collection for Liberty London, which sold out on release, and her Peace painting for Ukraine raised £20,000 for DEC and Choose Love charities. Eight of her large-scale paintings hang in the Hotel de la Boetie, Paris, commissioned by Partnership Editions.
Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Tillingham Vineyard (2025) and Amie, London (2024–25), with ongoing representation at Mylo Gallery, Stockbridge. Previous shows include FELT Collection 05, Soho House, Redchurch Street Studios, De La Warr Pavilion, and Big Yin, St Leonards on Sea.
Chiara is available for editorial and commercial illustration work, lettering and murals. Her work has been used in print, branding, collaborations, in-store artwork, Fashion Week invitations and dinner tables across the globe.
