BLUSH + BLOOMS

Romantic, floral, and lots of pink poured out from the catwalks. Definitely the season for the blushing bride. Nudes, peaches, carnations, corals, rose and rubys, are all winners according to the nuptial crazes of Fall 2014. Which ties in very well with the focal point flowers and the spectacular cake which are also trendy favourites.  We're talking hand painted designer tortes with bespoke lettering and ombre decorations; and trailing blooms, adorning frames, chairs, tables and pews, and just about everything else.

2014 Fall bridal shows flaunted this trend, with Oscar De La Renta, Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone and Vera Wang all parading exquisite, elegant blush dresses, amongst floral adorned, and nature inspired pieces. Claire Pettibone's Still Life collection, featured the Raven dress - a dark grey gown embroidered with red and pink roses; just beautiful for a daring lady, and one of my particular favourite wedding dresses, ever.  That maybe because I like the idea of getting married in a forest though.

Pink isn't for everyone, (and neither is a grey wedding dress for that matter) so whilst it's nice to be informed of the wedding trends du jour, take it lightly.

Fashions fade, style is eternal...

...as the legendary Yves Saint Laurent once said. I just happen to love fawn and flora, and I'm a real romantic, so it's a happy coinsidence, and one that I was excited about the moment I saw petal adorned runways and giant flower heads on catwalk. Bringing nature into the everyday is a concept that I'm really in favour of, and I try apply to every area of my life.

Your day should reflect you both as a couple, not the current fashion that that the media is telling you to incorporate. How you imagine your wedding should make both parties feel fantastic, screw trends. Remember you'll be looking back at these photos for the next 50 years, so make sure it captures the essence of who you really are, whether that's traditional, glamorous, understated or bohemian.  I love to discover a unique wedding, and a bride with the gumption to put their signature on the traditions of marriage - it's a joy to work on the artwork for these couples, and their individulatity is what makes their's a wedding to remember.
